We’ve got some exciting news! Webkinz World has officially been nominated as one of the ‘Best Virtual World sites for Kids’ at About.com! Here are the details:

Reader’s Choice nominations for the 2010 Best Virtual World for Kids included worlds with monkeys, dinosaurs, pandas, historical characters, robots, penguins, dogs, bears, cats and more. Parents and kids visited in droves to share why their virtual world was the best. With nearly 40 sites in the running the competition was fierce. The top 5 in this category were selected largely based on the number of nominations received.

Love is in the air as Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, and we’ve got the perfect contest for the heart-warming holiday. We want you to write us a romantic rhyming couplet about the Love Lion! The Love Lion is our newest Valentine’s Day seasonal pet, and there is no better way to celebrate its release than to put your words of love into rhyme!

Never written a rhyming couplet before? It’s easy. A rhyming couplet is a pair of two lines where the last words of each line rhyme! Come up with a fun one about the Love Lion and love, submit it, and you could win!

Winners will receive the rare Bed of Roses (the “prize”), which can only be acquired by registering a certain number of pets. We just gave a few away with our recent Twitter contest, so this will be the last chance to snag one of these superbeds through a contest for a while!
